THE RAIN TO CUDDLE

I’m going to make this story short and simple.
I went to make my hair one sunny afternoon, it was very sunny, there was no sign that it was going to rain.

Suddenly, the clouds turned gray, the gray became thicker, and it was almost close to dark. It was like an eclipsed of the moon was going to happen because this weird color reigned for several hours. I was done with my hair by that time and I decided to go home but, the sight of the Market close to the place where I was to get a cab home got my attention.

Everything was so normal. The market women had their goods displayed like the period of that time was a very normal period. The Mallams had their wheelbarrows of fresh carrot and greenish green peas and cabbages wheeled around. The pepper seller had her beautiful brown basket displayed with round tomatoes and red pepper on it. The foodstuffs seller had her bowls neatly arranged.

The market women were busy minding their business with the customers. I was confused, it was going to rain! I didn’t just stand there, I decided to buy something but before I could even talk, the waters from the skies started pouring. There was no intro, no prologue. The water had a heavy weight, the sound was so terrifying. I was surprised and not surprised too.

I had to squeeze my big self into a small place for shelter. Then I saw something beautiful. The market people had their backup plan! They scrambled for a minute and BOOM! The market was looking like the market I knew not! The Mallams disappeared in seconds. The goods where miraculously covered in nylons, baskets, bamboo leaves and all sorts of things I didn’t notice at first. They were so prepared for the rain. Their stuffs where “unhurt”.

How prepared are you for the raining season of your life. Every plan of yours should always cater for the future and unforeseen circumstances. How prepared are you?!

Sometimes, life might not give you the sign that the raining season is coming, when it comes, how many minutes would you spend scrambling??
