BRIDE PRICE SHOULD BE SCRAPPED

Feminist on this one again o.

Bride price is very significant in our culture during marriage but some people (especially feminist) think that it is a way of selling the female to her husband which subjects her to any form of harsh treatment by the man because "I paid to have her".

Feminist and writer Chimamanda Adichie's pep talk with some of her fans recently, titled #aneveningwithchimamanda. and she talked alot about the role of a woman, of which one is that Cooking shouldn't be compulsory for women.
On her Bride Price, Chimamanda said:

Quote
When I got married, I felt very conflicted about the payment of bride price. And my father, a very lovely man said he didn’t want any money because we were not selling anybody. Instead he asked for something symbolic.
And so he asked for 1 Kobo because of it’s symbolism. I think bride price should be scrapped from our culture.

That's her thought though, it is your decision to accept or pay or refuse the bride price but, on your wedding day, you might need someone to customize your jotters, pictures, any other thing. I mean a graphics designer to make your day a day to remember, you can call on Dagra designs.
You need graphics designs for your business, religious programs, organization, party.. Contact dagra designs on IG: @dagradesigns

My own opinion is that bride price gives a lady the feeling that she is important. You can't just come to her father's house to take her away, just like that.

Bride price is not her price or what she worth, it has it's own significance which is very important for a decent wedding.

Bride price or no bride price, make sure you share jotters on your wedding day.

Have a great day and please leave a comment or comments
